Orange UK prices 3G iPad at £199 on two-year contract, taking pre-orders today

Orange is making t pill easier to swallow today with the revelation of its contract-tied pricing for Apple's tablet in the UK. Pre-orders are about to start today for obtaining the 3G-connected iPad at prices of £199 ($312) for the 16GB version, £249 ($391) for its 32GB sibling, or £349 ($626) for the one equipped with 64GB of storage.

Apple iOS 4.2 Hands On: AirPlay on Apple TV and iPad

Apple's highly-anticipated iOS 4.2 update for iPadiPhone, and the iPod touch finally arrived this morning, along with an update for Apple TV. PCMag got a sneak peak at the update, which enables AirPlay—wireless streaming of video, photos, and music from your iOS device to Apple TV—and AirPrint, Apple's wireless printing solution for the iPad. Also included in the update: better Word document fidelity (upon import an export) in iWork, and multi-tasking and Game Center are now on the iPad.


Despite the minor limitations, AirPlay is an excellent additional feature for Apple TV and iOS device owners.

Samsung Galaxy Tab – the latest iPad competitor to hit the quickly-crowding tablet market – is already available through Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprin.
The AT&T-issue Galaxy Tab will sell for $649; consumers will not have to sign up for any sort of contract to get their hands on the machine.

BMW inaugurates a factory for electric car in Germany

 German luxury automaker BMW is getting ready to mass-produce its own electric passenger car.


BMW inaugurated Friday what will be Germany's first factory to mass-produce battery-powered cars, committing hundreds of millions of euros -- as well as its prestige -- to the as-yet-untested market.
it would invest 400 million euros ($561 million) through 2013 in the production, which will be at a complex that already produces variants of the 1 Series model
